how to look cheap without paying much

The basic urban look that could be seen at Urban Outfitters and Williamsburg hipsters, sure they look like they are wearing head to toe Salvation's Army but in reality their outfit probably cost more than your rent. Your probably angry now because they sure did look cool, effortless cool like they just swam through the pile of clothes on their floor and came out in a floral dress, rugged boots and knit sweater. Well you can get the look without paying much, here's my tips and as a follower of these shopping rules I will assure you they work.

1) Go to your local Goodwill, Salvation's Army and other thrifty stores, keep your eyes peeled and don't give up easily, for instance don't look around, peek at a few racks and then call it a day
2) It's all about how you look at things, you have to have the outlook of a vintage enthusiast.
3) Lace, floral, fisherman's knit sweaters, high waisted jeans, breezy shirts and motorcycle style boots are things I end up finding

P.S. Ross and T.J. Maxx are also good places to check because you never know, i've been able to find some really great shoes and jeans at Ross , (quite a few actually)
